Success Starts with the First Step

I love sharing success stories! For me success is not only an end goal, it includes all the steps we take along the way to make a positive difference. A success that I LOVE to celebrate is the beginning of a wellness journey (especially if they are delicious ;-). I have recently had the opportunity to teach and inspire A.C. who has decided (after some hesitation!) to take the plunge and start learning how to become his own Everyday Whole Foods Chef! Click below to read more how A.C. is making change delicious for himself and the planet.

Above: One of the first things people notice when grocery shopping with me, is that for the first time, their shopping cart is filled with fresh whole foods like veggies, oils, legumes, whole grains and herbs & spices. Of course we still include healthy treats like cacao ;-) While it can be a little bit intimidating at first to see only whole foods at the check out, fears are quickly alleviated once they begin to integrate the 5 Secrets for Everyday Healthy.

The Beginning of a Delicious Wellness Journey
One of the things I enjoy most about my job, is meeting all the enthusiastic people who are keen on making change delicious for their health and the planet. Daisy, who is originally from the U.K. and recently decided to make Vancouver her home, contacted me because she wanted to learn how to adopt whole plant-based lifestyle. Yet, she was feeling overwhelmed with information, was unsure of the basic ingredients to include in her pantry and had no idea where to start.

Daisy invited me to teach her and her twin sister Rosie (isn't that cute?;-) the 5 Secrets to make Everyday Healthy convenient, quick, easy, delicious, & affordable. Equipped with recipes, shopping lists, flavour profiles and kitchen equipment I made my way to Daisy's flat and I was greeted by a surge of enthusiasm for learning the art of whole plant-based everyday like Daisy and Rosie. Their excitement was so contagious, I was inspired to share the beginning of their journey to becoming their own Everyday Whole Foods Chef.

 Campaign for Positive Change

I am delighted to have been asked to take part in a special blog event happening place today across the US and Canada for FARM Animal Right's Great American Meatout, a campaign with a goal to expose  20,000 new people to plant-based foods. They are almost at 18,500!

Inspiration for New Whole Plant Enthusiasts for FARM

A few weeks ago, I received a message from Oddin Helgason, who attended one of my classes with his girlfriend Erin approximately a year ago. When they walked in, they asked me what type of fish we would be making. When I found out Odinn is a well experienced hobby chef that loved to cook with meat and cheese, I was not sure if they would enjoy my whole plant approach. To my surprise, they were more than enthusiastic and even went out half way through the class to bring back some wine.

Above: A picture of one of Odinn's favourite plant-based recipes, Mock Tuna Salad. Recipe below.

Susanne is an inspiration! When she first started taking my classes she assured me she was too busy (full time job+ entrepreneur) & hopeless in the kitchen to prep any of her own food. She emailed me today to say she now "A True Believer!". See her picture left "Tuscan Bean Dip a la Susanne" with FRESH rosemary.
