Raw Chocolate LOVES...Figs and Genny Thank you to Genny Bourdages, who writes a blog called Blowing Up My Kitchen, for contributing a very easy and quick. I have not had the chance to try it yet since I can't find fresh figs. As I am writing this..I realized that I have dried figs in my pantry so I am considering try to reconstitute them in water and then giving this recipe a whirl. It is a great recipe to keep in your raw chocolate repetoire for the end of summer when fresh figs are in season. Simple Chocolate Pudding. 8 oz fresh black mission figs* 1 tbsp raw cacao powder 2-3 tbsp filtered water Directions Place everthing in food processor and blend until everything is incorporated. Eat, enjoy & repeat! Genny's Affordability Tip *Fresh figs are notoriously expensive at most grocery stores. Do you know why? They have to be hand picked as they are so delicate as they cannot be picked until they are fully ripe. A few summers ago I did a Craigslist barter with a fig tree owner in the Strathcona area. Myself and a friend picked two 100 year old fig trees, I got 3 bucket fulls and she got two bottles of kombucha!
