All our products contain Naked Coconut's virgin coconut oil. Naked Coconut's oil is fresh pressed meaning the coconuts are pressed into coconut oil within two hours of being picked. This process yields a superior product in terms of taste (and in our opinion nutrition). We love using lots of coconut oil for its myriad of health benefits including anti-inflammatory, blood sugar and hormone balancing properties.

SMOKED CANADIAN SEA SALT

We are excited to have sourced a local smoked Canadian sea salt for our new Salted Caramel Almond flavour. When I was designing our newest Salted Caramel Almond flavour I had no idea I would end up using a smoked salt. When I went to Whole Foods to purchase a sample and they had run out of the unflavoured sea salt and the only had smoked left. After the first test run, we were all blown away at the madly passionate love affair between smoked salt and "caramel" (our version is made from lucuma and coconut oil). It was a definite OMyGod moment - and so smoked salted caramel came to be.

Vancouver Island Salt Co. is located in Cobble Hill, BC, nestled in the beautiful Cowichan Valley.As much as possible we choose to use local suppliers, as eating food close to where we live is more sustainable. Also in some holistic nutrition philosophies, it is said that locally grown foods contains nutrition that people who live in that region can benefit from most. 

We especially love that Vancouver Island Salt Co. is a carbon negative operation and runs its salt harvesting line on 99.5% recycled bio fuel. Wow! This is going above above and beyond. We are INSPIRED.
